The Powertek Story
Powertek Athletic began not as a business plan, but as a belief. A belief that performance apparel could be better. More accessible. More personal. And more meaningful for the athletes and organizations who wear it.
Brothers James and Tom Lalli grew up in the world of textiles and team sports, spending decades in the apparel industry long before Powertek was born. With over 40 years of combined experience, they learned the business from the ground up; sourcing fabrics, studying performance technology, building global manufacturing relationships, and most importantly, understanding what athletes, coaches, and programs truly needed.
By the early 2000s, performance athletic gear exploded into the mainstream. Big-name brands convinced athletes that higher prices meant higher performance. James and Tom disagreed. They knew great gear wasn’t about a logo, it was about thoughtful design, quality craftsmanship, and reliability. Therefore in 2006, they built Powertek Athletic as an alternative: premium, performance apparel that allowed teams to proudly display their own identity across the garment.
It worked! Coaches talked. Teams returned season after season. Not because of hype, but because quality, honesty, and service very much resonated!
As Powertek grew, the industry evolved and we evolved with it. When a customer asked if we could produce fully sublimated uniforms, we didn’t hesitate. Subli-what? Quickly became absolutely and we’ll perfect it. We leveraged long-standing manufacturing partners in Asia and Central America who already had sublimation expertise for the European market. We then invested deeply in technology and process. From advanced artwork approvals to optimized production workflows, we built a system that brought total customization to life; faster, cleaner, and more precise than ever before.
Today, Powertek Athletic is a full-scale custom apparel partner for elite athletic programs, youth organizations, corporate sponsors and corporate C-suite apparel programs across the country.
While many competitors moved toward template-based designs, we leaned harder into true creative freedom. If you can imagine it, we can build it; down to the last stitch, stripe, and color gradient!
In September 2026, we celebrate 20 years in business. Twenty years of early-morning practices, championship wins, uniforms shipped across countless states and countries, and relationships that have grown from orders to partnerships and often, friendships.
It has been a journey of passion, grit, learning, and constant innovation. But at the core, our mission remains beautifully simple:
